At the end of 2017 Peugeot Sport decides to officially involve itself in the World Rallycross Championship. The French manufacturer ends its Rally-Raid program to enter WorldRX. Team Hansen Motorsport, which has been running Peugeot 208 WRXs since 2014, gains the backing and support of the parent company. The Hansen brothers (Timmy & KƩvin) are retained as official drivers. The line-up is completed by the company's star driver, SƩbastien Loeb! The nine-time world rally champion gets the season off to a flying start with two second-place finishes in the first two races. At Mettet (Belgium), in the third race, he manages to take victory! In 2018, he is the only driver to have beaten Johan Kristoffersson (6-time world rally champion)!
